Kitchen Countertops Installation Process

It’s time to replace your kitchen countertops. You have done your research and decided you want granite kitchen countertops installed in your home in the Maryland area. Now you’ve found our website and would like to know what’s the next step. First, congrats on your decision! Granite, quartz or marble kitchen countertops will improve the look of your kitchen and provide many years of enjoyment.

The first step in getting your kitchen countertops remodeling project underway is to get a quote for your project and The Paradise Stone makes it really easy.

Step 1: Getting an estimate for your kitchen countertops

The Paradise Stone estimates are free and there is never any pressure to buy nor any obligation. The Paradise Stone wants you to be happy with your decision and not pressured into making one. We believe that the quality of the products we fabricate and install, the selection of stones and colors we offer, our workmanship, our turn-around time and our pricing will speak for themselves when it’s time for you to make a decision about your kitchen countertops. You can view examples of kitchen countertops we have fabricated and installed in our work gallery.

Even though The Paradise Stone does not give out estimates over the phone, we can provide you with an estimate by email. This way, you will be able to review our estimate on your own time without having a salesman pressuring you into making a decision that day. When you are ready for an estimate, visit our “get a quote” web page or click the “GET A QUOTE” button at the bottom of this page. Once there, you will be able to download a template form (pdf) which you will need to complete and return to The Paradise Stone with your quote request. The template will be used to give you an estimate for your kitchen countertops or vanity tops based on the information provided. To complete the template form, you will need to take some basic measurements of your kitchen countertops, select the type of stone and color you want and indicate if you need a new sink and faucet and the type of counter top edges you want .

Step 2: Matching colors and selecting your natural stone slab for your kitchen countertops

If you agree with the price The Paradise Stone quoted you, a member of our team will arrange an appointment for you to either come to our showroom or have one of our professionals come to your home. If one of our professionals comes to your home, he or she will bring samples that match the type and color of countertops you selected for your project. Coming to you directly ensures that you are not overwhelmed with the responsibility of measuring the square footage of your kitchen countertops, as well as the other fine details collected to prepare your estimate. Keep in mind that if you change some of the specifications you listed in your online quote request, price will be affected either down or up depending on the options you select.

If instead you decide to come to our factory once you have approved our quote, we will schedule a time for you to come look at our showroom where you will be provided with a one hour of free professional design consultation. At this time you will be able to make a final decision on what stone you want for your kitchen countertops, the type of countertop edges you want, as well as select a sink if you want The Paradise Stone to install one for you.

If you come to our showroom, we encourage you to bring sample colors of your kitchen and/or bathroom cabinets to assist in your stone selection. You could bring, for example, a cabinet drawer, kitchen cabinet door, or paint swatch. In the event that we do not have a stone in stock that match what you are looking for, we will put in touch with one of our local suppliers in order for you to pick a style and color for your kitchen countertops from a very large selection of natural stones.

Step 3: Fabricating your kitchen countertops

Before The Paradise Stone starts fabricating your kitchen countertops from the slab you selected, but after you have completed all the necessary paperwork and you have paid the required 50% deposit of the final quoted price for your project, The Paradise Stone will schedule a time for one of our professional estimators to come to your residence to make a template which will help The Paradise Stone with the fabrication process.

For most kitchen countertops, an entire slab of granite is required to have enough material to complete the project. In the case of vanity tops, we may be able to find a remnant piece of granite that suits your needs.

The lead time required for fabrication and installation of your countertops is about 5 business days (unless it takes longer to receive the slab you selected). The Paradise Stone will arrange a convenient time for the installation of your countertops.

Step 4: Installing your kitchen countertops

The day you are scheduled to have your countertops installed, we ask that you clear out everything from your existing kitchen countertops prior to The Paradise Stone arrival at your residence. We also ask that you protect or take away anything that is fragile and could break during the installation process. For all installations, we request that you or an adult family member be present. At the time of installation, the second half of  your total job cost is due. Once the project is completed to your satisfaction, all debris and your old kitchen countertops will be removed from your property.
